See if you qualify

If you use kratom at least three days a week, you could qualify for a research study performed by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Whether you’re using kratom recreationally, for pain relief, for mental health, or to self-treat a substance use disorder, we want to hear from you!

To see if you qualify for one or more of our studies, click the “Schedule a Call” button below and schedule a screening call with a study specialist.

It’s important to note that any information you give to us is kept confidential and is protected by federal law.

2

Complete the study remotely

Participation begins by completing the screening questionnaire. To see if you qualify, click the Start Now button below. If you qualify, we’ll ask you to download an app onto your smartphone and send a small sample of the kratom you’re currently using. You’ll be compensated for your time and your information will not be shared. Regardless of where you’re located in the U.S., you could qualify.

If you are eligible to participate,
you will be informed and invited to complete the study.

Make an impact

Advances in medical care come through research. At NIDA, we have been able to learn about how drugs, alcohol, and nicotine affect the brain and body.

Before you join any study at NIDA, we will review details of study participation with you and answer any questions you have. If you join a study, you will need to follow instructions and undergo study procedures to the best of your ability while you are in the study.

Your participation in NIDA research is an important part of our combined mission to turn discovery into health.
